Basic Policies Related to Research Activities
at the University of Yamanashi

November 28, 2014
From the Office of the Presient

The University of Yamanashi charter states our goal as “Having an international perspective when seeking out problems and working toward achieving their solution, creating research centers that bring people together from around the world, and contributing to the development of scholarship as well as science and technology.”
The research activities of the university are upheld by the trust of and mandate from society. Fraudulent actions considerably damage the trust and mandate and shake to the core not only those institutions with which such researchers are affiliated but also institutions that promote science and technology in our country.
Therefore, we established a “Code of Ethics for Research Activities at the University of Yamanashi” to ensure the trust in and fairness of academic research and to secure the trust of our citizens in academic research works performed by the university. We must be earnest in our efforts if all those involved in research activities and in the management and use of competitive funding at the university are to meet the trust of society.
